Rachel and Cole's Birthday Photos

Well, they are 16 months old now, but I don't want to leave them out, so here are a few photos from their celebration. Their birthday was on Tuesday, Feb. 5, but we celebrated the following Saturday when Grandma Hunt could be here to join the six of us and Grandma Kroll. On Tuesday, they had a twinkie dessert which they really enjoyed. At the "party" they opened their presents and each had a cake with candle, hats, singing . . . the whole bit.

Alexa's Birthday- May 5

Alexa turned FOUR last month! It was a good day with all the birthday fun, but seemed rather anticlimatic to me, the mom, because I feel like she has acted like she was four for the last six months, at least. However, she had a great day, and we all enjoyed making her feel special. We didn't have a party this year, but she invited a friend over for lunch (it was a non-school day for her). They played and had a picnic lunch in the backyard. In the evening after everyone else was home and Grandma Kroll came over, there were presents, dinner (she chose pizza), and a cake with pink icing.

By the way, in case you were wondering after looking at the last photo of her on the phone, she is four -not 14- as the photo might suggest. She is looking rather comfortable there on the phone, isn't she?! She is talking to Cousins Caitlin and Hailey who called to wish her a happy birthday.

End of the school year news and photos

. . . I have a lot of catching up to do, but hope to get on the ball now that we are finally back on-line at home for the first time since January! :) Of course, it is summer break and we spend a lot of time outside . . . I will do my best though.

ZOO TRIP- May 2008

We took advantage of our first week out of school to head down to the Oklahoma City Zoo last Wednesday. The weather although toasty wasn't too hot, it was not overcrowded, and we had a great time!

This was our third trip to this zoo since moving to Stillwater, but the first time Rachel and Cole have been old enough to actually know what is going on around them. They were suitably impressed by the live, BIG animals . . . especially the ones they know from their story books such as zebras, giraffes, monkeys, and elephants. It was great to see the delight in their eyes as they opened up wide and their mouths formed a little "o"!

FAVORITES OF THE DAY:
Robbie: zebras, train ride, ice cream cone.

Alexa: train ride (her animal choice of the day- the giraffe)

Rachel: elephants and train ride

Cole: chimpanzees/gorillas, free roaming geese/goslings, ice cream

Note to self: Spring for the train ride more often. This is something I usually don't do, but it was obviously enjoyable for all of them!

Spring Ramblings

Robbie turned 6 yesterday and had a great birthday. He enjoyed all the gifts he received and loved having cake "twice!!" on his special day.

Robbie and Alexa both started soccer this weekend. They each played very hard and had a good time. Thanks Grandma for the new soccer shoes, they sure are fast!!

The Hunt kids were tied down long enough on Easter to get the first picture in 14 months of all of them together. As you can see Cole tried to get away, which Robbie denied him that chance.

Just five days after Rachel and Cole are born -or perhaps, finally five days after Rachel and Cole are born- we had our first whole family photo.

As I post this first entry to our new family blog, we are just 6 days away from Rachel and Cole's first birthday . . . it is hard to believe, especially for me, but it is true. I hope to some add some reviews from 2007 to chart our first year as the "Hunts-party of six" as well as keep people up to date on current events. Enjoy!
