Cotton Bowl, cont'd

Well, it has been quite a week. On one hand it feels like we have been here forever since we have done so much and one day just flows into another. On the other hand, I can hardly believe game time is less than 48 hours away.

We have been the Museum of Nature and Science, the Dallas World Aquarium, the Main Event (a Dave and Busters-type place with a full bowlilng alley and laser tag), a pizza dinner with autograph footballs and plenty of people to sign them, a ladies luncheon at Neimen Marcus and a shopping trip, a quiet, slow, adults only dinner, an ATT Cotton Bowl hosted lunch with both teams, and more, I'm sure.

Fun!

P.S. I thought my disk drive would work in these computers, but they don't seem to. I will have to wait to share photos.

What a Night!

We went to the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington last night for a Mexican dinner, entertained by an artist, and then watched the highlight videos on the big screen. I know I already told you we were going to do this, now I am letting you know that we really did.

It was AMAZING! I had no real expectations or great anticipation for the stadium or event, but I have to admit I was a bit star struck by it.

I have scoped out a computer that I can put my memory card in to start sharing pictures, but I don't have my camera with me now to share. I will be back. Now I am on my way to a meeting to get the full scoop on all the activities for the week.

Road Trip

We made the trip to Dallas, Texas, today. The weather was much improved, but roads were still a bit snow packed in places. All said and done, it only took us an extra 20-30 minutes than it should have(I think). This is the kids and my first stay in Texas. Rob has been here more times than he can probably count.

So far, the Texas and Cotton Bowl hospitality hasn't let us down.

Our accommodations are great and overly generous. We are hanging out in the hospitality room at the moment waiting for a short while longer until our first official event at the NEW Dallas Cowboys stadium- a welcome dinner and highlight video presentation on their HUMONGOUS "big screen".

I will have to wait to publish photos as the computer I am using doesn't have a disc drive for my camera memory card.

FIRE UP COWBOYS!

A Christmas Journal

7:15 am Cole and Rachel wake up and come crawl in bed with us. They eventually go back to sleep after quite a bit of wiggling as they settle in.

8:15 am Alexa comes in to our room, says Merry Christmas, and gives me a kiss.

8:16 am Robbie comes in (fully dressed) and says Merry Christmas.

8:17 am Cole and Rachel follow Robbie and Alexa out to the living room and they all sit to watch Tom and Jerry together.

8:20 am I hear Robbie sing Happy Birthday to Jesus.

8:23 am Birdie finally decides she has to go outside and can't hold it anymore. (She wouldn't go out last night while the snow was still falling and there were 40+ mph winds.)

Have you noticed no one has yet to ask when they get to open gifts!

8:28 am Rob offers cinnamon rolls (homemade yesterday by us girls) to everyone for breakfast.

8:30 am While Rob is dishing up cinnamon rolls, Robbie (FINALLY) and somewhat half-heartedly, I have to add, asks, "Do we get to open presents now?" When Robs responds with "next Christmas", Robbie doesn't even complain!

8:36 am Robbie just finished his cinnamon roll, and said, "I'm done, now let's open some presents!" . . . WHEW! Maybe our kids are normal after all! :)

9ish (after Alexa -the last person to eat- finished breakfast, I unloaded the dishwasher, Rob finished his coffee and had the camera ready) We finally sorted presents and began the opening. The kids seemed to have fun and actually did a pretty good job of watching each other open gifts instead of just tearing through their own.

I haven't actually asked for their favorites, but they each spent most of their time using the following today-
Robbie: Savannah animal set
Alexa: paint set
Rachel: magnet dolls
Cole: puzzles and Gator golf

We spent a lazy day watching shows, playing with new stuff, big boys played x-box football, and having some quiet time. I finished laundry, packed bags for the kids and I, and took two naps! Rob did some cleaning and kept everybody in order as well as played some on-line poker.

I think it was a successful Christmas at home - an unusual event for the Oklahoma Hunts. We didn't even see anybody else let alone go anywhere! We are hoping to be able to travel to Dallas tomorrow without road troubles. We'll see!

A Permanent Addition?

The kids have slowed down from jumping on the air mattress in our living room, but every subsequent activity has taken place on the air mattress. A moment ago I looked over to see only Rachel's legs sticking straight up in the air. I asked if she was okay, and she quickly responded yes. She had been sitting on a couch pillow on the mattress and apparently tipped over. I looked just in time to see her still upside down. It definitely would have been a good photo op if I had the camera ready.

Cold Outside

What do we do when it is too cold to go outside to play? Just look and see . . .


It isn't often "too cold" outside around here, but today it is 20 degrees and with three little ones and no snow, it just isn't worth bundling up. I think they are having fun anyway.

Fa-la-la-la

We have been a little busy and distracted, I guess. It has been three weeks since I have been here to share, so . . . in the spirit of distractedness (?!?!), I will share a couple of photos from today! (tee-hee)

Just so people aren't overly concerned about my parenting skills, I wasn't out of the house or sleeping or even with my nose in a book. I was actually helping the big kids work on a project in the kitchen while these little artists were in the living room making themselves into human canvases. The kind of good news, most of the colors they used were washable, so their faces now just hold a trace of extra color.

(Note: The little man had actually already started cleaning his face when I took the picture as he was MUCH more colorful to begin with.)
